”In our museum, history has taste and scent…”
The Gingerbread Museum in Toruń is a branch of the Toruń Regional Museum. It is located inside the former gingerbread factory from the 19th Century, which was owned by Gustav Weese. In the former factory rooms, you can discover the history of gingerbread in Toruń, get to know a unique collection of gingerbread moulds that date back from the 17th Century to the 20th Century, exhibits connected to this industry, as well as see packaging, advertisements, documents, etc., from up close. Whole families can pay a visit to the museum and enjoy a gingerbread playground, a room of fairy tales and legends, and a kid’s corner with games and a virtual dressing room. When visiting the museum, you will have a unique opportunity to participate in special workshops, during which you can create decorative gingerbread cookies with your own hands, under the watchful eye of museum educators. Such gingerbread cookies will be a fantastic souvenir to take home. Each of our museum guests is welcomed with the famous ‘Katarzynka’ cookie – it is by far the most legendary gingerbread cookie manufactured by Confectionery Factory ‘Kopernik’.
